Claude Code error

MCP server "<name>" needs you to sign in again (run /mcp to re-authenticate)

Claude Code prints your server name where <name> stands.

A remote MCP server turned your credential down.
Sign in to it again.

What it means

A remote MCP server rejected the credential on a tool call mid-session. Usually the sign-in or token expired, or the token lacks a permission the tool needs.

The tool call fails, and /mcp marks the server as needing authentication.

Fix it

  1. Run /mcp, select the server, and sign in again from its menu.
  2. Or sign in from your shell with claude mcp login <name>.
  3. In a claude -p or Agent SDK run there is no /mcp panel, so Claude Code cannot run the sign-in there. Sign in from an interactive session first.

Switch while you wait

If the server also accepts a static token header, add it with --header and there is no sign-in to expire.

The fix is the server credential, not the vendor. Nothing else needs switching.

With superbot

superbot is your own AI agent with a model of its own that runs on superbot credits, so it keeps working when a vendor's plan runs out.

It also puts your own API keys behind one base URL, with one caller key, in the OpenAI or Anthropic format.

Calls on your own keys spend no superbot credits, and you pay your provider as usual.

The setup is on the ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL page and the OPENAI_BASE_URL page.
