Replicate API error

Request was throttled. Your rate limit resets in ~30s.

Replicate sends this as the detail of a 429 response. The 30 seconds is the docs example. Your wait will differ.

What it means

Replicate caps API requests: 600 per minute to create predictions and 3000 per minute on every other endpoint. Short bursts above those numbers are allowed before throttling starts.

Two things tighten the limit. As your credit runs low, Replicate applies stronger limits so you do not overspend. An account with granted credit and no payment method on file is held to 1 request per second and 6 per minute.

Fix it

  1. Wait the time in the message, then retry. Wait a little longer after each repeat.
  2. Check your credit. Replicate suggests credit auto-reload to keep the balance above $20.
  3. If your credit was granted and no payment method is on file, the 6-per-minute limit applies while that stays true.
  4. For higher limits, contact Replicate support.

With superbot

superbot does not change Replicate's limits on your account.

For media generation, superbot books a vendor's 429 as rate limited. It waits the Retry-After time, tries that route once more, and then moves to another route when there is one.
