Gemini CLI error

You have exhausted your capacity on this model. Your quota will reset after 19h14m47s.

Google fills in the duration. This example comes from a test fixture in the Gemini CLI repo, not from its docs.

Your quota on that model is used up.
It resets after the time in the message.

What it means

The backend quota for that model is exhausted. The error carries the reason QUOTA_EXHAUSTED and a retry delay, and the reset time in the message is built from it.

The quota is per model, not one daily clock for everything.

Fix it

  1. Wait for the time in the message.
  2. Run /stats model to see your usage and the limits that apply to you.
  3. The Gemini CLI docs list the per-day request limits for each sign-in type: a Google account, a Gemini API key, and Vertex AI.

Switch while you wait

The docs name the way out: log in with a Gemini API key or Vertex AI and pay as you go.

Or hand the task to another vendor you already pay for until the quota resets.

With superbot

superbot is your own AI agent with a model of its own that runs on superbot credits, so it keeps working when a vendor's plan runs out.

It also puts your own API keys behind one base URL, with one caller key, in the OpenAI or Anthropic format.

Calls on your own keys spend no superbot credits, and you pay your provider as usual.

Many tools take an OpenAI or Anthropic base URL, so see the OPENAI_BASE_URL page.
