# superbot in Discord

Add the bot to your server, then type /ask.
Your own agent answers in the channel.

## What it does

- Answers `/ask` in a channel. The answer streams into one message, in a thread or in the channel.
- Posts a message to a channel of a server you added it to, as the superbot bot, when your agent is asked to.
- Keeps a default project for each channel with `/settings`.

## Connect it

1. [Add superbot to your server](https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client%5Fid=1561541579133681835). You need the Manage Server permission.
2. Choose the server and approve the permissions Discord lists.
3. Type `/ask` and a question. If the bot asks you to link your account, open its link while signed in to superbot, then ask again.

The first goes to your agent anywhere you use it. The other two are typed in Discord.

## Permissions and limits

Status

In Discord's App Directory.

Needs

A Discord server you added superbot to, and a superbot account to link it. Discord needs no Recovery key.

Permissions

It can see the channels it is added to, send messages and links, attach files, read message history and start public threads.

Reads

The commands people type. It reads no regular channel message.

Who can ask

A member who linked their own superbot account. Each answer runs as that person.
